Introduction
This document provides a structured approach to diagnosing and resolving potential issues with a SigmaGate.
Each checkpoint is linked to a detailed guide with step-by-step instructions, offering a deeper explanation of how to perform the check or troubleshooting task.
By following this guide, you can ensure a thorough and efficient evaluation of the product's condition, enabling swift identification and resolution of any problems.
The gate alarm is activated
The gate will alarm in the following scenarios.
- Check that the motor key switch is turned ON.
- If the gates are equipped with Mechanical Panic Breakout, check that the gates are manually returned to its zero position (locked position).
- Check that all 4 PEC sensors are aligned and centered on reflector using the indicator lights on each PEC sensor.
- Main PCB DIP switch settings (right/left gate setting)
- Test Mechanical Panic Breakout switch.
- Check customer safety radar settings.
- Check chain cable.
- Check coulisse PCB.
- Check motor rubber stops are fully screwed in.
- Check that power is going to the motor.
- Check if the motor is operational (motor continuously driving).
Optimizing gate operation
- Check the configuration of the gates potentiometer settings.
- Check customer safety radar settings.
- Run twin cable between saloon and gnd (outside gate body).
- Check that all 4 PEC sensors are aligned and centered on reflector using the indicator lights on each PEC sensor.
GateMaster issues
- Check that the data cable is plugged into the GateMaster.
- Check GateMaster dip switches.
- Check LED lights on the GateMaster.
- Check the twin cable between GateMaster and main PCB.
- Test the data cable in wiring harness.
Gates do not operate
00. Check the main PCB, any LED diodes that is/isn't active.
01. Check that there is power to the gate.
02. Check that the motor key switch is turned on.
03. If the gates are equipped with Mechanical Panic Breakout (MPB), check that the gates are
manually returned to its zero position (locked position).
04. Check if the gates are being held open on the remote controls. Check that CLEANING MODE is
not activated by checking for the illuminated Cleaning LED on the main PCB.
05. Check connections of GateCOM cross-over cable by checking for the illuminated Saloon LED on
the main PCB.
06. Check that all 4 PEC sensors are aligned and centered on the reflector using the indicator lights on each PEC sensor.
07. Press the test button on GateMaster board of the master gate.
08. Press the test button on the main PCB on each gate.
09. Bypass Entrapment board.
10. Check the dipswitch settings.
11. Check coulisse pcb / coulisse cables.
12. Check cable chain assembly.
13. Check the potentiometer settings.
14. Check the Gatemaster board, any LED diodes that is/isn't active
If the problem is still not solved, switch off the mains power to the gate and turn it back on.
