Check the dipswitches on both gates.

 

Recommended settings for dipswitches as below:

1 = ON
2 = Left gate = OFF. Right gate = ON. 
Example: The left gate is the gate on your left side when you walk through the gates in correct direction. 
3 = See store specific manual.
4/5 = OFF for entry gates and ON for exit gates. 
6 = See store specific manual.
